DescriptionTaken from Tempe Daily News - September 29, 1978:Representatives of Arizona's American Legion Posts and Auzilary units all came to Tempe last Saturday - to give a royal "Homecoming" party for newly-elected National American Legion Vice Commander Max Connolly (center), of Tempe, chosen to that post at national convention in New Orleans. Connolly's home post William Bloys 2 and its Auxillary of Tempe hosted the gathering. And among those on hand to congratulate the new national officer were (from left) Soleng Tom, Tucson, a past national vice commander ; Arizona Legion Adjutant Bryant Barron, Mesa; Natinoal Executive Committeeman Ronald Murphy.
