DescriptionFrom a photo caption (Day of service) appearing on Page A13, 'Applause' section, Tempe Daily News, Saturday, October 12, 1985:Day of service - Elderly residents of the Westchester Care Center in Tempe had something to brighten their day recently when the city's four Lions and two Lioness clubs chose them for special attention during World Lions Service Day. Below (2001.19.4780 & 4794) standing from left, Kachina Lioness secretary Wilberta Smith and Beautes Lioness resident Laura Giljum offer a choice of cakes to Westchester residents Anna Weber and Walter Comer. At right, Octavia Jones of Chandler demonstrates castanets for Helen Robinson of Westchester. Octavia was among the Lions' Talent Contest winners who entertained for the World Lions Service Day project. The Tempe, Lunch Bunch, Rio Salado and Sun Devil Lions clubs participated in the Westchester project.
