DescriptionThis black and white photo shows teacher Catherine Rubush sitting in front of a blackboard. She spent many years teaching in the Kyrene School District. A Scholarship for 8th graders was established in her name. Was also a docent for the Tempe Historical Society.Caption from the Tempe 150th Anniversary exhibit:
Dedicated teachers like Catherine Rubush – seen here at the Waggoner School in 1982 – are a big reason why the name Kyrene is so strongly associated with schools today.
