DescriptionTaken from Tempe Daily News - April 13, 1978:Members of Arizona's parent-teacher groups gathered in Tempe, Wednesday, for the annual Arizona Parent-Teacher Association convention, due to continue through Friday at Fiesta Inn. Getting acquainted before sessions started yesterday: (l to r) Mrs. Daryl Agnew, member of Waggoner School PTA in the Kyrene District; National PTA First Vice President Mrs. Virginia Sparling, of Seattle, Washington, special guest for the conclave; Dr. Mary Murphy, Phoenix, Arizona PTA president; Judge Gerald Strick, Phoenix, a convention speaker; and Wendell Jewell, a Tempe High School senior and a Tenor singer who was there to help provide entertainment for the gathered parents and teachers.
