DescriptionMemorabilia from Sister Cities Program with Skopje in North Macedonia, Letter of Acceptance.
Glossy wooden portfolio with a carved emblem on the front of Skopje, and attached to red thread is a carved token with the same emblem and text, "Skopje".
Inside is the handwritten Letter of Acceptance to the City of Tempe, accepting the invitation to become Twin Cities. On one page it is written in English, on the second page it is written in Macedonian, and is dated June 1971.
The first paragraph reads, "To the Citizens and Council of the City of Tempe, Assembly of the City of Skopje with special honor and pleasure appreciates and accepts Resolution of the City of Tempe Number 1065 passed on the 17th of December, 1970, for twinning as a noble and friendly initiative."
