BiographyProfessor of Education at Arizona State Teachers College/Arizona State University, c1940-1960.
Son of George Irving and Laura Jane Davis Richardson.
Graduated from the Whitewater State Normal School in Wisconsin in 1922, with a diploma in the Principal’s course. He was principal of Darien, Wisconsin, elementary and high schools, 1922-1925, and was principal of Junior High School Training Department, State Teachers College, Whitewater Wisconsin. In 1928, he was awarded a Bachelor of Philosophy degree by the University of Wisconsin in Madison, with majors in science and education and minors in math and social studies. He received a Master of Philosophy degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1929, with a major in education and a minor in psychology. He received a Ph.D. from Northwestern University. In 1940, he left Illinois to become Director of Graduate Studies at Arizona State University. He also served as the college registrar (1941-1948), Dean of Instruction (1945-1949), Dean of the College of Education (1949-1953), and Academic Vice President of the University (1953). He served as acting President of ASU, c1960. He was author of more than 30 articles on secondary and higher education.
Lived at 913 S. Myrtle Avenue in 1940.
