Kenneth Roger Evans, passed away January 29, 2006, in Tempe, AZ. Born
November 18, 1957, in Canton, OH, he was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Warwick Evans and Roger Jones Evans. Kenneth is survived by his fiancée and loving companion Diane Moore, daughter and light of his life Greer Evans, and good friend and former wife Sheila Schmidt, all of Tempe. He is also survived by four siblings: Richard Evans (Ann) of Sherrodsville, OH, Donald Evans (Gayle) of Peterborough, NH, Patricia Evans Stephens (Robert) of Tubac, AZ, and Joanne Evans Tritt (Samuel) of Massillon, OH, and many other family members and good friends in whose hearts Ken will forever remain. Kenneth attended Canton public schools and the University of Akron prior to his transfer to ASU in 1977. Ken was the Director of Communications, Boards and Commissions for the Arizona State Library. He served as Reviewer of National Leadership Grants for the Institute of Museum Services. Ken was a Board Member and past President of both the Museum Association of Arizona and the Central Arizona Museum Association. He was the Project Manager for the Arizona Heritage Project and the SRP Centennial Exhibit. Ken served as a coordinator and planner for the National Book Festival, the Arizona Book Festival and the Arizona Women's Hall of Fame. A service in celebration of Ken's life will take place on Saturday, February 11 at 1 PM at the Tempe Mortuary, 405 E. Southern Avenue, Tempe. A memorial service will also be held in Canton on February 19 at 2 PM at Dueber Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
