BiographyIrene Benedict was married to the late Dr. Joel A. Benedict and was his student at ASU where she graduated with a BA and an MA in Audiovisual Education. She was a teacher and librarian who continues to support ASU with endowments. She's a charter member of the ASU Cornerstone Society (2002). She went to Nigeria with her husband in 1962 when he set up the Audiovisual Center. They helped ASU Libraries establish the Visual Literacy Collection in 1994, and the fourth level of Hayden Library was renamed in 1990 for her and her husband.
