BiographyCame to Tempe from Texas in 1907.
Worked as a telephone operator in the early 1900s.
Worked as clerk at Tempe Post Office, c1916.
Moved to Prescott in 1920, but returned to Tempe in 1927. Worked as a dressmaker.
Though they had no children of their own, she helped nine girls through Arizona State College/University.
Her sole survivors were two foster daughters, Emma
Belle Larsen of Chandler and Inez Pringle of Payson.
Member of the Rebekah Lodge, the Pythian Sisters Lodge, the Tempe Old Settlers Association, and the Tempe Historical Society.
Lived at 401/405 S. Maple Avenue, c1912-1974. In 1921 lived at 1122 McAllister Ave. In 1928 lived at 23 W 4th.
Sold her house to the City of Tempe in 1974 for restoration as a public historic building. See also: Ray M. Hackett.
