BiographyArrived in Tempe with her parents in 1921. Her family fled the Mexican revolution about 1913.
They moved to Morenci, c1913, then moved to Tempe in 1921. She started working in the cotton fields around Tempe at age 9. Attended Payne Training School. After the death of her husband Alejandro, in 1959, she worked as a baker at Thew Elementary School and went back to school to earn her GED diploma. Worked for Tempe School District No. 3 through the 1960s.
In 1974, Tempe School District No. 3 named a school in honor of Alejandro and Josefa Arredondo.
President of the LDS Church Relief Society for 16 years.
