BiographyTeacher.
Earned a B.S. from Miami University (Ohio) in 1924 and an M.A. from University of Michigan in 1928.
She was a teacher in Tempe, 1929-1966. Teacher at Grammar School in 1931, '32.
She taught 4th and 5th grades and was the Tempe Elementary School's first librarian.
She and her husband, Eddie, were the first husband and wife team to work in the Tempe school district.
In 1969, Tempe Elementary School District No. 3 named Scales School in honor of Eddie and Lucille Scales.
Member of the Order of Eastern Star and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Lived on 114W 8th Street, c1910, '29, '30, '31, '32.
Lived at 1213 S. Wilson, Tempe.
