BiographyTeacher.
Came to Arizona in 1919. In 1926 was a student, lived at 18 E 7th.
Graduated from Tempe State Teachers College. Worked briefly in Solomonville and Mesa before he started teaching at Tempe Elementary School in 1935.
Taught at the Tempe Elementary School District No. 3, 1935-1972.
He was the district's first instrumental music instructor, and he and his wife, Lucille, were the first husband and wife team to work in the Tempe school district.
Member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, National Riflemen’s Association, and the Rio Salado Gun Club of Mesa.
In 1969, Tempe Elementary School District No. 3 named Scales School in honor of Eddie and Lucille Scales. In 1929 lived at 841 Normal Ave.
