BiographyProfessor at the Tempe Normal School, c1902-1905; Superintendent of Schools (Tempe Union High School and Tempe Grammar Schools), c1908-1913.
Graduated from Terre Haute Normal School in 1895, the University of Illinois in 1900, and received a Ph.M. degree from the University of Chicago in 1901.
He was principal of the Township High School, Wadena, Indiana, and superintendent of City Schools in Hebron, Illinois, before he accepted the post professor of history at the Tempe Normal School in 1902.
In 1905 he became superintendent of Schools in Jerome, Arizona. In 1908 he returned to Tempe as Principal and Superintendent of the Tempe Union High School. In 1912, he moved to Glendale and established the Glendale Union High School.
He was a professor at Miami University, c1917-1926, and then again returned to Tempe and became involved in real estate and building rental properties.
He was credited with being a booster of Tempe, and helping relieve the housing shortage in Tempe during the period of 1915-1930. In 1929 was a teacher.
Tempe City Councilman, 1930-1936. In 1931 was V Pres of Tempe Chamber of Comemrce.
President of the Tempe Chamber of Commerce, 1932.
Owned a ranch near Tempe. Owned N2 NE4 section 20 (80 acres), in 1924.
He helped develop the Maricopa County Farmers' Union. Member of Rotary Club and Knights of Pythias.
