Ernest Noriega Moraga

Ernest Noriega Moraga, 77, a Tempe native passed away August 15, 2005 in Mesa. Mr. Moraga was born May 30, 1928 in Tempe, Arizona. He was married to Lillie Parra also a native of Tempe. He graduated from Tempe High School. He was a "Life Time Baker" and began his career as a baker working at the Dutch Oven Bakery for 12 years. He owned his own bakery "Ernie's Pastry Shop" for 10 years. He spent 2 years as a baker for a US Govt. contractor in Kwajalean at the Marshall Islands. He retired after 20 years as a baker for Smitty's Grocery Store. He was preceded in death by his parents Carmen & Carmen Moraga; sisters Natalia, Dora, Eluvina; brothers Abelardo, Tommy, Raymond & Pete. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Lillie Parra Moraga; son Raymond Parra (Dora) Moraga; daughter Jacqueline Pauline (Floyd) Gutierrez; three grandsons Raymond Ernest (Zelda) Moraga, Floyd Matthew (Holly) Gutierrez, Rick Andrew Gutierrez; five great-grandchildren Bianca, Brandyn and Brandee Moraga, Natalia and Antonio Gutierrez; two brothers Flavio (Marty) Moraga, Reynaldo "Cotsy" Moraga. A visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 19 from 5 to 8pm with a Rosary at 7pm at the Christ of King Church 1551 E. Dana Ave., Mesa, AZ. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 20 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel 2121 S. Rural Rd., Tempe, AZ. In lieu of flowers donation can be made in Ernest's name to the American Diabetes Associations, www.diabete.org or the Lymphoma Research Foundation, www.lymphoma.org.
