DescriptionFrom an article published Tuesday, April 6, 1977 by the Tempe Daily News:Every Litter Bit Helps -
Windy and rainy weather failed to daunt some North Tempe residents Saturday as they participated in annual North Tempe Homeowners Association sponsored spring Neighborhood Clean Up Campaign. Picking up litter at Laird school area, a pair of grown-ups are aided by a small fry who knows that "every litter bit helps" too. Members of Brownie Scout Troop 719 and Girl Scout Troops 277, 725 and 367 were major participants in he clean-up, but North Tempe individual residents were urged to join too in cleaning up alleys, vacant lots, roadsides, parks and bikeways.
