DescriptionThere was a lot of memory-sharing as longtime and new members of Tempe's First Congregational Church and their guests got together last Sunday to celebrate the church's 85th birthday. Pictured are (from left) Helena Mueller, wife of the church's pastor; Anita Feeney; Dr. Samuel Burkhard, a member of the church since 1936, chosen to recount its history for the dinner celebration; and Lucile Pyle, wife of guest speaker Howard Pyle. The dinner was held at the First Methodist Church, to give Congregational Church women a "day off" from cooking and serving chores. See related photo at 2001.19.2022 for additional info.
