DescriptionA very special grandmother was a very special guest when students at Roosevelt Elementary School in Mesa staged an "Old Fashioned Day" Wednesday as part of a week-long Mesa Centennial celebration in their school this week. The guest was Mrs. Lillian Willis (3rd from left) of Mesa, and that photograph the students are admiring is of her grandson, Johnny Whittaker, now 17 and a student at BYU in Utah -- but once the young Jody of television's "Family Affair." Joining sixth grade teacher Mrs. Sandy Kyle (center) to talk to Johnny's grandmother are Roosevelt school students from Tempe (from left) Dianne Kennedy, Robby Hudson, Lauryn Stewart and Debbie Funk, all decked out for the Old Fashioned Day. Lauryn is admiring a handkerchief for which Mrs. Willis did the tatting.
The film negative of this photograph is housed in box 2G8-A.
