DescriptionFrom a photo caption in Tempe Daily News, April 15, 1978:Scoring A 'Win' - Youngsters who will participate in the Tempe Parks and Recreation Department summer ball programs were the real winners when two Tempe organizations presented checks totaling over $1,000 to the P&R, Friday. Money will be used to help with the ball programs. Making the check presentations to (center l and r) P&R Recreation Superintendent Duane Dawson and summer ball program chairman Fred Grantham are (left) Lt. Mike Wilkins, giving a $600 check from the Tempe lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police; and (right) Alex Arredondo, board member and youth committee chairman of Tempe Sunrise Kiwanis Club, presenting a $700 check from that group.
