DescriptionFrom an article and photo caption appearing in Tempe Daily News, Saturday, July 22, 1978:Life Of Leisure Now - Ilo Waggoner and his Phoenix-born wife, Leona, relax at their home in Tempe, enjoying their retirement years. Waggoner was superintendent of Kyrene Elementary School District for 33 years, watching it grow from a small rural six-classroom school to a full-scale district. The Waggoners have seen many changes in Tempe too, since they first settled here in 1939. But though they've done lots of traveling since his retirement, they still say Tempe is their favorite spot in the whole world.
