DescriptionFrom a photo caption appearing in Tempe Daily News, August 8, 1978:Historic Meeting - Officers of Tempe Historical Society met with leaders of the state IOOF - Odd Fellows and Rebekah’s - at Tempe's historic Monti's La Casa Vieja, Monday noon, to discuss another historic matter, long range plans for preservations and display of the old Niels Petersen home at Priest and Southern in Tempe. Currently, under terms of the Petersen will, the old home is in custody of the state IOOF. Looking over scrapbooks of color photos taken during Tempe Historical Society public open house held at the Petersen House this past spring are (standing l to r) R. Glenn Coker, grand master of the Grand Lodge of Arizona, IOOF; Jay Hirt, grand trustee of the Grand Lodge; Howard Pyle, president of Tempe Historical Society; (seated l to r) Ida Holzer, home board trustee for the IOOF; Mrs. Hayden C. Hayden of Historical Society and Betty Boles, Tempe Historical Society vice president.
