DescriptionOne down, 14 to go - from Tempe Daily News, March 22, 1986 - Tempe Sister City Organization's original seven-member board of 15 years ago joined last Saturday to launch the organization's 15th anniversary celebration by planting a tree is Kiwanis Park. The tree was the first of 15 to be planted in 'Sister City Gardens' at the park, where boulders by the trees will have plaques listing each year's Sister City exchange student delegates. The tree-planters included (from left) Doug Black, Virginia Thompson, Mayor Harry Mitchell, Tom Kincaid and Dick Neuheisel. Not shown are Shirlee King and Bob Teague. The anniversary celebration continues today at the Sister City International Springfest at Kiwanis Park. The film negative of this photograph is housed in box 2G8-F.
