Memory of by Tempe shared by a Facebook follower: "His house was on the SW corner of West 6th Street and Ash, I believe. We would walk by his house on our way to Tempe Beach. His yard was all dichondra and I remember a sign saying “This yard hasn’t been mowed since 19??” (I don’t remember the year). He had a small room outside his house with a collection of various rocks that he displayed. He always welcomed anyone who wanted to see them. It was always amazing to us when he turned on the black light and we could see the rocks with all their fluorescence. My brothers and I loved seeing his collections."
