BiographyCame to Tempe in 1876.Claimed to be the "first white family in Tempe."
Came from Arkansas with his family and the Walker family, and settled in Prescott, AZ, in 1876.
They decided to move to Phoenix, but met Charles Trumbull Hayden, who persuaded them to move to Tempe. They homesteaded land in the Tempe area, near what is now the southeast corner of Rural and Broadway.
Owned NW4 section 26 (139 acres).
