Free lunches are a new addition on the scene at a number of Tempe and other Valley recreation program sites this summer. Under federally funded program, administered by State Department of Education, schools and other organizations with facilities serving a high percentage of low-income children are providing free noon meals to children up to age 18 this summer. Above, members of Tempe Boys' Club go through lunch assembly line at Carl Hayden Boys' Clubhouse, one of a number of Valley Boys' Clubs participating in the program and utilizing catering services.
