DescriptionYoung Tim Calder, first grader at Frank Elementary School, in Guadalupe, looks pleased as punch as he shows off new wheelchair for Dave Jeffery (left), president of Tempe Optimist Club which provided the money to buy the wheelchair. Helping Tim, son of Mr. and Mrs. James B. Calder, jr. , try out his new trasportation is Liz Lopez, Community School director at Frank. She had called Optimists' attention to Tim's need for a wheelchair after giving a slide presentation on Frank Community School recently to the Optimist Club. Members had asked her if there were any projects needing financial assistance at Frank school - and within a week Jeffery had presented the school with a check from his club to purchase the wheelchair.The film negative of this photograph is housed in box 2G7-E.
