DescriptionFrom a photo caption on the front page of Tempe Daily News, Wednesday, September 6, 1978:

Do You Remember? - Remember when you had to use ration books to get sugar, coffee, shoes, meat and even at one time canned goods? And you hoarded ration stamps for weeks or months to save up enough for tires or gas for the family vehicle if you had to make a long trip? When you plain just did without a lot of things - like silk hose, for instance - and everybody in the neighborhood was planting Victory Gardens and housewives were going off to work as "Rosie the Riveters"? Those were World II days on the home front and Tempe Historical Museum, Rural road and Southern avenue, is emphasizing WWII on the home front in a current exhibit in conjunction with coming up Museum Awareness Week, starting November 9. All Central Arizona Museum Association members will be carrying out a World War II theme for that special week. Tempe's museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
The film negative of this photograph is housed in box 2G8-C.
