DescriptionFrom a photo caption appearing on the front page of the Monday, October 2, 1978 issue of Tempe Daily News:

Candidates 'Clued In' - Education is one of the biggest areas of concern for state legislators, so Tempe Union High School District invited Tempe's District 27 legislative candidates to a briefing, Friday, to assure that they would all have up-to-date and pertinent information on the school district's background, budget and other matters. Joining TUHSD administrators in "cluing in" the legislative candidates were (center r and l) district School Board President Dr. Richard Smith and board member Donald Kirkman. The candidates: (standing left), Republican Doug Todd, who seeks House seat; (standing right) Democrat Gene Kadish, House candidate; (seated l to r) Democrat Bob Ashe, Senate candidate; Democrat Peggy Burton, Republican Juanita Harelson (incumbent), who seek House seats; and incumbent Senator Jim Mack, Republican. The film negative of this photograph is housed in box 2G8-D.
