Dear sister's daughter [niece]

A long time has gone by since I wrote to you and the children how are you? I am always glad to receive a letter from you, my wife and I are both in good health and I hope you all are in good health.
Tang received a letter from his brother Katrine's husband in Esbjerg that he was ill and could not work what kind of illness does he have? It said in the letter that he had mucus in his lungs is it similar to tuberculosis?
I am sending you $50 dollars $25 for Enevold and $25 for your oldest daughter this is a kind of confirmation present you may give it to the children or buy whatever you think they need.
With many loving greetings to you and the children from my wife and I.

Your loving mother's brother [uncle]
Niels Petersen
