DescriptionLarge binder with newspaper clippings cjpublished during 1980-1989 and collected by Shirley Blanton, the donor, who was married to Ralph Blanton, Tempe Fire Chief. The stories are related to Tempe fires and firemen and paramedics. Included in the binder are stories about fires in Tempe, Fire Department buisness as well as the death and funeral of Tempe paramedic Edward Giacki in a fire at Jumbo Bakery and Deli, 1352 E. Apache, January 15, 1980, along with many copies of a newspaper column, "Fire Log" which listed recent fires and many other newspaper articles on fire incidents in Tempe during the years 1980-1989. Stories include motor vehicle accidents that Tempe paramedics and fire responded to, and stories about personnel who changed jobs or retired during this time period.
