DescriptionFrom an article published Mar 22, 1977 in the Tempe Daily News:

Citizens To Be - Citizens of four foreign countries who hope to become naturalized US citizens listen as Pat Solo (standing) gives them a lesson in US history during class session of a Tempe Knights of Columbus sponsored Americanization course. Among those enrolled in the 15-week course, covering US history and constitution and preparing participants for citizenship exams are (seated left to right) Joan Parsons, native of Australia; Mary Grijalva and Guadalupe Benton, both natives of Mexico; Maria A. Clay, native of Nicaragua, all Tempe residents; and Gertrud H. Roberts, native of Germany, Mesa resident. Classes are held at KofC Hall, 930 West 23rd Street. And Solo should be a good teacher - he's a naturalized US citizen himself, native of Honduras. He teaches at St. Mary's High School, Phoenix, regularly.
