The 400 block on the West side of Mill avenue will never look quite like this again. Demolition work has begun on the old buildings on the site which will become the first project in the downtown renewal program. Though Tempe architect Michael Goodwin has said he will attempt to save the buildings' facades, the section of Mill is destined to become an area of specialty shops and restaurants and will have a new "old" look. The building shown here is owned by Edith and George Getz.
