DescriptionFrom a photo caption and article appearing in Tempe Daily News, Wednesday, September 20, 1978:35 Years Later - Rose and Warren McMillion (left) may not have had a chance to cut a wedding cake when they exchanged marriage vows 35 years ago in Kentucky - they eloped from Ohio to Kentucky while he was on Navy leave during World War II! But they made up for it, by cutting the cake 35 years later at an anniversary party given for them Saturday, September 9, by daughters (from right) Valerie Norman, at whose Tempe home the event was held, and Deborah Nering of Coolidge.
