DescriptionThe large binder is divided into sections by years 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, and 1972 and follows Ralph Blanton's career as well as life as a fireman, their families and community life. including openings of new fire stations, major fires, events and promotions around the city. The binder contains many originals and copies of photographs of Tempe fire personnel with notations made by the donor, Ralph Blanton's wife. Major events include:-1966:construction of Fire Station #2 and move from old station #1 into new building
-1967:Dedication of Fire Station #2, with Chief William Hanna
-1968: fire drill with man jumping into a net, Tempe Hotel fire at 621 Mill Ave., new Asst. Fire Chief Dean Filer, Borden Dairy Plant fire -1969: firemen licensing new bikes at school after Christmas vacation, severe windstorm with many fire calls, Cashway Lumber fire
-1970: Fire at Charles T. Hayden home, McClintock and University
-1971: Fire at ASU dorm, ASU motor pool building fire, gas main fire at McClintock and Southern
-1972: New fire station, Lotus Flower Apartment fire
