DescriptionThis chair has tapered front legs and two vertical stiles from feet to crest. There is a single, plain, squared stretcher between the front two legs. The three remaining sides also have one plain, squared stretcher each, attached with doweled joints and glue. The seat frame is made up of four pieces of wood, attached to the front legs and stiles with doweled joints. A black imitation leather seat sits on the frame and is secured underneath with pieces of wood and screws. The seat is a box seat which flares out towards the front. A single, central urn shaped splat is attached to the seat and crest rail with mortise and tenon joints. The crest rail is attached to the stiles with screws. It is flat along the top and curved either side of where the splat is attached.
