DescriptionThe painting is a reproduction of National Guard "Cuidado". It depicts a battle scene from Bicol Campaign, Luzon, Phillipine Islands on April 3-4, 1945 (top plaque). It was presented to Howard Pyle on behalf of Arizona National Guard in recognition of support of battle (bottom plaque). It shows jungle battle. It is a commercial reproduction on canvas in wooden matt with linen and gold on edges stained wood frame. Presentation plaque on top and title plaque on bottom. Maker: McBarron, Jr., H. Charles-Original artist, reproduction maker unknown. Also, a document titled "The 158th Infantry Regiment 'The Bushmasters' Arizona National Guard" was originally affixed to the back of the painting, but has now been separated and a typed document of the National Guard presentation of the painting to Honorable Howard Pyle. These two documents are stored in 2B3-C34 and 2B3-C35Status
