DescriptionFrom a photo caption appearing in Tempe Daily News, June 20, 1978:Getting Involved - Neighborhood youngsters help Mrs. Susie Carlson and daughter Karen pick up litter in their area as they get involved in Tempe Junior Woman's Club-sponsored "Neighborhood Involvement Week" city-wide cleanup. Karen and her mother hold the trash bag for young helpers (not in order) Larry, Randy and Mark Steiger, Ken Jeffers and Eric Carlson. Tempeans throughout the city are being urged by JWC to "get involved" and get their neighbors together for a thorough clean9up of debris, weeds and other dried growth in their alleys, yards and neighborhoods vacant lots.
