DescriptionFrom an article and photo caption appearing in Tempe Daily News, July 19, 1978:

Welcome For A New Bank - Dale Hunter (from right), and Bob McGee, Phoenix, president of the Valley's Thunderbird Bank, discuss future of that bank's new branch in Tempe, with John Dewar of C.W. Jackson Construction Co., contractor for the branch building at 2007 South Priest drive; Peter Lendrum, of Peter A. Lendrum and Associates, Architects, which designed the building; and Glenn Sahl, of Tempe Mortuary. Hunter is manager of the new branch; Sahl was among city business and civic leaders getting a look at the new facility at a champagne and hors d'oeuvres grand opening party, Monday evening. Tempe branch of the bank will be a full-service branch. Thunderbird Bank, whose first Valley office was opened in Glendale in 1965, specializes in serving small businesses.
