BiographyStenographer for U.S. Entomological Laboratory in 1921, 1926,-'28, -'29, '31., '32.
Graduated from Tempe High School in 1912. Recipient of the first Neils Peterson Prize of $30 for being the top student in her class. After graduation, she worked as a bookkeeper at the Pacific Creamery on E. 8th Street. She also worked temporary jobs at the Farmers and Merchants Bank, and at the Telephone Company in Tempe.
She took a civil service exam to qualify for a position as secretary. She worked for one year with the U.S. Forest Service in Flagstaff, then transferred back to the Tempe area and became a stenographer for U.S. government agencies, primarily the Department of Agriculture's entomology laboratory in Tempe, where she worked for 43 years.
She was a long-time member and secretary
of the Tempe Old Settlers Association, and was one of the founding members of the Tempe Historical Society. She was also a member of Mount Carmel Ladies Sodality, Catholic Daughters of America, Tempe Women's Club, Tempe High School Reunion Group, Tempe Republican Women's Club, and the American Association of Retired Persons.
Lived on 2nd Street in East Tempe in 1910; in 1921, '23 lived at 327 [325?]E. 7th Street, 32 E. 14th Street, and 913 S. Myrtle Avenue (1926, 1928,-'29, '30,, '31,,'32, 1940)..
