DescriptionThis chair has two rockers (curved slats) attached by doweled joints to four bell and baluster turned legs which are splayed. One stretcher is attached to the front and back legs on both the left and right side, which are vase turned. A vase turned stretcher is attached via doweled joints to the two stretchers, in which it is parallel to the seat and at right angles to the left and right stretchers (cross stretcher). The legs are attached to a saddle seat via doweled joints again. The seat consists of a single piece of wood and is upholstered in the center with a floral faded fabric. Two arm rests have been dowel joined onto the seat. The arm stumps at the front are vase turned on both sides. Behind this there are three bulb turned spindles. These four vertical pieces are doweled onto curved arm supports. The arm supports are screwed onto vertical back parts. The two vertical back parts are doweled to the seat and are vase turned. At the top of each there is one bulb turning. Two bottom rails have been attached to the back parts by mortise and tenon joints. Ten bulb turned spindles are doweled to the upper bottom rail and a crest rail which is curved.
