DescriptionProfessional portrait of Dr. Fenn J Hart, Tempe's first mayor, standing against a tree stump with a faux floral background. Dr. Hart is dressed in his Red Cross combat uniform and regalia, calvary hat and boots, he has a medical bag strapped around his chest, and he has dark hair with a dark mustache and beard. The inscription at the bottom indicates the photo was taken at a studio named Hawkins located in Jerome, Arizona, where Dr. Hart opened a medical practice circa 1901 after returning from the Spanish-American and Phillipine Wars where he served as a Red Cross combat physican and surgeon from 1898 - 1899.
