BiographyFarmer, rancher.
Came to the Kyrene District from Kansas in 1895. Operated a dairy in Kyrene, c1895-1907. Rented land near Kyrene in 1900. Served on the Kyrene School District Governing Board, 1898-1904.
Moved to Tempe, c1906. Started the Tempe Livery Co. (c1906) and the Buck Transfer Company (c1907, 1921). Owned a livery and feed stable at 4th St. and Maple, in 1922 and later, in 1925, at 902 S. Farmer Avenue. In 1925 was a laborer, Was a driver in 1926.Also owned a rock and gravel business that provided much of the materials for the paving of Tempe's streets and rural roads.Owned a transfer and feed stablein 1927, '32, '36, '38. In 1929 was a farmer. Served as a Tempe City Councilman, 1914-1916. Member of the Board of the Congregational Church for 20 years. Elected Inner Guard of the Knights of Pythias in 1919. Lived at 6th and Willow (College) in 1906; lived at 420 S. Maple/ Ave in 1921; 22 W. 5th Street, c1910; lived at 111 W. 6th Street in 1915; lived at 902 S. Farmer Avenue, 1922-1934. In 1930 was a rancher.
