In 1919, he left for Camp Cody on Long Island, where he was assigned as a chemist to special laboratory work in the gas defense department (CWS) of the U.S. Army. He was a Corporal.
The auditorium at Tempe High School was named in his honor.In 1921 lived at 27 E 7th.
Lived at 114 E. 7th Street in 1923, 1924, '25; lived at 709 Mil Ave in 1926, '28, '29,'30, '31,, '32. Lived at 1017 [1009] S. Maple Avenue in 1939, 1940.
