DescriptionThis seat has casters on the bottom of each leg. The front legs are cup, baluster, bobbin, spool and bulb turned, whilst the stiles taper outwards towards the bottom. The front edge of the upper third of each stile has grooves carved into it and a decorative piece of wood, which is scroll shaped, has been attached to the side near the top of each. The seat frame is flat on each side and is grooved at the front. There is a decorative apron at the front in the center. A block of wood with a cross and dots on it secures the front of the frame to the sides. It is onto this that the front legs are attached. There are decorative arm stumps which are curved and grooved. These in turn are attached to wooden arm rests, onto which a separate, padded rest has been attached. The arm supports have been joined to the stiles. A padded seat has been attached to the seat frame with nails and consists of floral fabric. A bottom rail has been attached to both stiles and is plain in design. There is a decorative crest rail which is carved in the center with a floral design. There is a rectangular splat in the center with a Celtic design. Fabric has been attached to the rails and stiles either side of the splat, creating two back rests.

This seat needs re-upholstering.
