DescriptionThis chair has two sausage turned front legs and two stiles from foot to crest with flattened front surface half way up. There are two plain round stretchers on each side, except at the back in which there is only one. The seat consists of nine long, thin, curved pieces of wood, which are secured underneath with two horizontal pieces of wood. These are attached to a stretcher like seat frame at the front and back and rest on the frame at the sides. There are three rails at the back, forming a slat back. The bottom two rails are plain but slightly curved and are attached to the stiles with mortise and tenon joints, whilst the crest rail is vase shaped and also curved slightly.
