BiographyRancher, teacher, businessman, and attorney.
He was a Teacher in Tempe's public school system, and was the first principal of the Tenth Street School. He was also an Instructor in education at Tempe State Teachers College, 1917-1918. He was a shareholder in the Tempe Irrigating Canal Company in 1923. A rancher in 1921. He also operated large farms and ranches. He was admitted to the Arizona State Bar in 1938 and started a private law practice. In 1934 he became an attorney for the Home Owners Loan Corp. and was appointed state manager of the corporation in 1938. Managed the Spear S Cattle Company. He also worked for the U.S. Brewers Foundation, 1940-1963. Retired in 1963. In 1923 was south side manager for Phoenix Seed & Feed..
Served a term in the Arizona State Legislature, 1929-1930. Was Secretary of the ASU Foundation, 1960.
He was active in the Council of Camp Fire Girls, Boy Scouts, Elks Club, Arizona Cattle Growers Association, and Arizona Cattle Feeders Association.
Lived at 850 Ash Avenue, c1910-1925.
